Terry Heath

Founder

Terry has spent the last twenty years designing award-winning experiences across a range of services. After graduating, Terry managed the design of ground-breaking multimedia titles for Dorling Kindersley. After that, he joined Europe's largest digital agency (now called LBi) as a Project Director, where he designed the first e-commerce solutions for clients like Marks & Spencer and The Dixons Group. Terry then went on to set up their Interactive TV and Mobile divisions. Before founding Seren, Terry was the Global Head of User Experience Design for Vodafone. During his time there, he was responsible for the design and launch of Vodafone live! as well as a number of other strategic Vodafone products and services.

Ellen Jones

People Director

Ellen is Seren's other co-founder. Over the past 10 years she has operated primarily with a senior-level client base, and has considerable experience building high-performing teams, identifying talent through assessment and developing it through coaching and other activities. She has undertaken organisation-wide interventions to monitor culture and manage change that align people's approaches and attitudes with high-level strategic goals and brand positioning.

Chris Saul

Client Services Director

Chris has a 15 year track record leading consulting and design firms and working with global and emerging companies, predominantly in the Retail, Media & Entertainment, and Services sectors. Before Joining Seren in 2011, Chris was an executive director of one of Europe’s leading digital agencies – Conchango (now EMC Consulting, following acquisition). Prior to that, Chris was UK Business Director for Microsoft consultancy, Dimenica following 6 years at ICL Retail Systems.

Richard Cass

Consulting Director

Richard has a wealth of experience across Financial Services and Media. He has worked client side for IBM, HSBC, Open Interactive TV, BSkyB and prior to joining Seren developed a new Insurance company and product. With these companies Richard has developed products and services, created service strategies and driven commercial and marketing projects to award winning standards.

Chris Thomason

Managing Consultant

Chris's skills and experience is in the identification, analysis and development of innovative business opportunities. Chris worked both in-house and in consultancy offering strategic consulting and innovation development in service design in the financial services, media, publishing, consumer goods, automotive and FMCG industries.

James Wiggin

Managing Consultant

James has worked in e-commerce since 1995, working in both client and agency environments. With experience in management and consultancy he has delivered enterprise-wide intranets and e-commerce solutions for a number of clients including Vodafone Retail, The White Company and Marks & Spencer. Prior to joining Seren, James co founded iFramework Ltd, a software development company specialising in intranet and knowledge management solutions.

Clare Hatfield

Clare has worked with clients on both a project and contract basis with a particular focus on mobile. She has experience in requirements gathering, conducting expert reviews, user testing and detailed design. Most recently, she has worked with phone manufacturers and developers to customise handsets and develop services that are usable and engaging for customers.

Charlie Francis

An expert in IA and delivering elegant standard based web design, Charlie is an enthusiastic and experienced interactive designer. His depth of knowledge comes from experience gained in senior web designer roles at IPC and AOL, where he led teams to deliver local and international design projects. Charlie shares his expertise by telling great stories, inspiring colleagues and amazing clients.

Jonathan Rez

Jonathan is a cross-disciplinary designer who develops engaging, user-friendly experiences and services within digital and built environments. Recently, he has been focussing on designing for mixed-reality experiences. A keen advocate for user centred design, he is interested in the interplay between design and cognitive psychology. Jonathan holds an MA in Narrative Environments Design. He is also a sessional lecturer at the University of New South Wales in Australia where he wrote the course Visual Identity in the Built Environment.

Russell Sese

Russell enjoys seeing different worlds collide and playing with ideas to see where they could end up. Russell's passions lie in exploring all things social and anti-social. With a BSc in Computer Science, and a MSc in Human-Centred Systems, Russell has a solid background in software engineering and research design techniques.

Richard Thompson

Richard has over 15 years experience in user-centred digital design. His depth of knowledge comes from working on, and leading, a broad range of client projects in various industries. With expertise in mobile strategy, website design, IT solutions and interactive technology, Richard specialises in solving complicated design problems and delivering innovative and user friendly creative solutions.

Fiona Hannah

Fiona approaches service design from a business and marketing background. Fascinated by people and what makes them tick, Fiona helps to create better brand experiences that make sense in the commercial world. Prior to joining Seren, Fiona worked at Accenture and has experience working across projects, predominantly in the financial services and mobile industries.

Louise Downe

Louise is a business designer and futurist. She has a track record of leading innovation in the public sector and before joining Seren was cross platform producer at Tate, where she designed award-winning games, films, and interactive installations. Louise takes a holistic approach to product strategy, helping clients anticipate the world of tomorrow and create new services that can thrive within it.

Matthew Cane

Matt studied at the Arts Institute at Bournemouth and has an academic background in Graphic design. He was commended in the Royal Society of Arts, Service Design direction awards 2009/10. He is fascinated by research led design and believes that this is the core to any great design outcome.

Matt Gardner

Matt graduated from Loughborough University with a BA (Hons) in Industrial Design and is currently following a path in Service Design at Seren. Matt holds a great interest in trying to make technology more human and emotional and is lucky enough to be able to pursue this interest in his current path.

Natalie Tillett

Natalie has an academic background in Fashion Textile Design and has previously worked in both the Fashion and Interior Design industries. Since joining Seren, Natalie has worked on various projects for Vodafone, Visa and ITV, with a recent focus on developing business applications for cross platform services. In gathering actionable insights that inform user-centric design solutions, she aims to create engaging experiences, that when combined with elegant visuals are beautiful for customers to use.

Esteban Olmedo

A multidisciplinary approach to his BA in Product Design and work on independent and collaborative projects has given Esteban a number of different insights into the design process. Passionate about the potential that design & perspective thinking holds to evolve people’s quality of life, Esteban aims to deliver intelligent and elegant solutions.

James Porteous

James' focus lies in using his design training to explore everyday experiences, working with clients and users to create innovative, customer-focused design concepts. With a degree in Product Design from Glasgow School of Art and experience designing across the public and private sectors, he enjoys the challenge inherent in creating products and services that balance customer needs with the requirements of business.

Amy Whitney

Amy studied a Bsc in creative product design at the University of the West of England. The foundations of engineering principals and design thinking she learnt there became the building blocks that led Amy to explore interactions between people, products and services. Amy is passionate about digital engagement; and how it can be made sustainable and inclusive, especially for the older generation.
