Terry Heath

Founder

Before founding Seren, Terry was the Head of User Experience Design for Vodafone. During his time there, he was responsible for the design and launch of Vodafone live! as well as a number of other strategic Vodafone products and services.

Terry was also personally responsible for managing the design and evolution of the group's 27 operating company websites. He led a working group, consisting of a senior stakeholder from each country, which was tasked with ensuring that the global web user experience was world-class.

Catherine Lawford

Managing Director

Catherine has 20 years client side experience working for companies such as AOL, BSkyB, Open Interactive TV and Matsushita. She brings a breadth of commercial, operational, marketing and product development skills to our work. At Seren Catherine has led functional branding, concept development and communication projects. She is also committed to ensuring that the work the Seren team delivers to you is elegant, bright, strong and amazing!

Ellen Jones

People Director

Ellen is Seren's other co-founder. Over the past 10 years she has operated primarily with a senior-level client base, and has considerable experience building high-performing teams, identifying talent through assessment and developing it through coaching and other activities. She has undertaken organisation-wide interventions to monitor culture and manage change that align people's approaches and attitudes with high-level strategic goals and brand positioning.

Chris Thomason

Managing Consultant

Chris has 11 years experience in the identification, analysis and development of innovative business opportunities. Chris worked both in-house and in consultancy offering strategic consulting and innovation development in service design in the financial services, media, publishing, consumer goods, automotive and FMCG industries.

James Wiggin

Senior Consultant

James has worked in e-commerce since 1995, working in both client and agency environments. With experience in management and consultancy he has delivered enterprise-wide intranets and e-commerce solutions for a number of clients including Vodafone Retail, The White Company and Marks & Spencer. Prior to joining Seren, James co founded iFramework Ltd, a software development company specialising in intranet and knowledge management solutions.

Justin Stach

Senior Consultant

A firm advocate of the power of design and technology to improve people's lives, Justin has over 10 years' experience working in the field of user-centred design, interaction and usability. He balances a rich understanding of technical issues with a keen sense of design and human needs. Prior to Seren, Justin led the eBay UK design team, and managed the two-time Webby-award-winning Zopa development team. Justin also runs a consultancy offering accessible web and application development to the Government and public sector.

Kathryn Victor

Senior Consultant

Kathryn is a customer strategy expert with 9 years marketing and business consulting experience. She has an MSc in International Business and has worked with blue-chip clients including Royal Bank of Scotland, Barclays and O2 to design and deliver compelling multi-channel customer experiences across the sales and service lifecycle.

Clare Hatfield

Consultant

Clare has worked with clients on both a project and contract basis with a particular focus on mobile. She has experience in requirements gathering, conducting expert reviews, user testing and detailed design. Most recently, she has worked with phone manufacturers and developers to customise handsets and develop services that are usable and engaging for customers.

Emma Pickering

Consultant

Emma is fascinated by people: how they experience product and service use within their everyday lives and how this can be improved through design thinking. She has experience in product strategy and design-research (including ethnographic and participatory) and has worked on a range of experience projects for companies such as TfL, Nokia, Vodafone and Coca-Cola.

Noemi Mas

Consultant

With a background in industrial design, Noemi turned into design research and user centered innovation. Driven by a keen interest in how people’s experiences could be improved, Noemi is skillful in design and qualitative research methodologies. She has worked on a broad variety of projects ranging from strategic design to the development of next-generation digital services.

Oznur Ozkurt

Consultant

Oznur has 5 years experience in tailoring technology around people’s needs and desires and creating products that are delightful to use. She has a good grasp of user centric design methodologies, research analysis, concept generation and a sharp eye for visual design. Oznur holds a masters degree in interaction design from Interaction Design Institute Ivrea, and a BA (hons) in visual communication design from Sabanci University, Turkey.

Russell Sese

Consultant

Russell enjoys seeing different worlds collide and playing with ideas to see where they could end up. Russell's passions lie in exploring all things social and anti-social. With a BSc in Computer Science, and a MSc in Human-Centred Systems, Russell has a solid background in software engineering and research design techniques.

Ian Bach

Associate Consultant

Coming from an academic background in industrial design, he has worked across the UK and Europe. He is an advocate of service innovation though user-led design, mixing observation and research with collaborative methodologies. Ian has a strong belief that at its best, design thinking has the power to offer new perspectives on today’s biggest issues.

Michiko Nitta

Associate Consultant

Michiko is interested in conceptual user designs which are fun as well as functional. Michiko’s background is in product and graphic design, which led to studying an MA in Design Interactions at the Royal College of Art. She has also had her worked exhibited at both the ICA in London and MoMA in New York.
